This hand stitched fun little bag is going to make

This hand stitched fun little bag is going to make an 1850km trip to its new home in Michigan! It is a12x10x4 cinch top that converts from (adjustable) backpack straps to crossbody bag with the pull of a handle. Look close for the Ferrari red stitch detail on the back which matches the @blackdiamond key holder/carabiner inside. There is an exterior and interior pocket and the entire bag is lined in white pigskin. This was a super fun project to design and build, and it’s going to an excellent family. #leatherwork #leathergoods #design #build #enjoy #specialtyprojects

Here’s 2 iPhone max pro sleeves crafted in veget

Here’s 2 iPhone max pro sleeves crafted in vegetable tan leather with white stitching. One has card slots and will hold a passport, and the other is a simple sleeve. Veg tan develops a beautiful patina over time, and I helped the process to start by burnishing with a slicking tool. I’ve used the card slot sleeve for a while now and it feels real nice in the hand and in the pocket! #leatherwork #leathersleeve #iphonecase #specialtyprojects

Just finished this roll top pack late last night! This pack features fully adjustable straps, mountaineering style buckles, zippered laptop/boarding pass pocket,brass rivets and roll top handle sleeve. And, there are 4 types of leather serving completely different functions. I took some of my favourite travel bag features and tried to put them into one- but still keep a classic design and make it totally bomb proof. This bag took over 35 yards of waxed thread, and 30 hours to design and build. I had this (weird) idea to make a roll top backpac

I had this (weird) idea to make a roll top backpack to replace my current travel bag. I wanted to include all the things the other bag wasn’t great at- so you know: easy access to laptop in security, strap that allows bag to fit over roller bag handle, something that looks cool and screams I yodel. Bag construction is exactly like framing steps: cuts have to be perfect, build inside out, make it straight. So I started a few days ago cutting and punching holes and finally sewing last night. By 2am I was all done except for the final long seam. So this morning I poured a great cup of coffee and sat down to finish off. Deep into Forrest Gump and almost done the line I discovered I forgot to sew in the roller bag strap- complete take apart and start over. Sort of like forgetting to add those braces to help hold the step from bowing. Welp, more coffee and more movies… #leatherbag #saddlestitch #brassrivets #handmade #rucksack #rolltopbackpack #maker

This Christmas I made a few leather wallets as gifts for family, and I experimented quite a bit with wallet phones and phone sheaths. One of the things I’m most happy with is this cool purse I made for the nicest little girl in our neighborhood -that walks @notmaditsbrad a few times a week. This purse is not huge, but just right for her, it is lined on both sides and is made from a beautiful oiled Kodiak leather (and happens to be the perfect size for going to the Jet games. She came back today to walk our boy and we asked what she has put in the purse: to which she replied ‘treasures’! Love it!!
